Alex Araiza
About me
Hello! I'm Alex, a software developer. I've always been interested in science and technology; as a kid, I loved getting my hands on anything that caught my interest and taking it apart to see how it worked. As an adult, I still love that. This curiosity led me to study engineering, where I discovered coding and instantly fell in love with how easy (and cheap!) it was to make and test my own ideas.
Over the years I've used my skills to develop workplace tools at BXYZ; improve the customer experience at Kombo, a startup in the transportation industry; develop a chat system for LineHayat, a student-run organization; and turn other projects into digital reality. Most recently I've been developing Anemo, an AI-powered web app to practice languages.
I focus mostly on back end development with Node.js, though I also have experience with Python, Rust, C++ and front end experience with React and Svelte.
Some of my interests include languages, music and photography.
My work
Software developer at BXYZ
- Architected and built an MVP using Next.js, Electron and Supabase, securing a pre-seed investment round and taking the company to a seed investment stage
- Designed and implemented authentication using OpenID Connect and authorization using OAuth 2.0, Role-Based Access Control and Attribute-Based Access Control, ensuring secure user and organization management
- Maintained and further developed the platform past MVP stage, shipping new features such as a WhatsApp integration, supporting user signups from new markets
Full stack developer at Kombo
- Increased the conversion rate of a Kombo REST API by 73% by reducing its average response time from 6.3 seconds to 1.5 seconds
- Improved the reliability of automatic after-sales actions, reducing the need for intervention by customer success representatives in 41% of cases
- Increased revenue by 12% in the Italian market by integrating the services of high speed train providers using their API
